Restylane® Silk is a hyaluronic acid gel that is used to add fullness to the face or lips and to eliminate wrinkles. However, it is much thinner than traditional Restylane®, making it a better choice for areas with thin skin such as underneath the eyes. Restylane® Silk is most often used to smooth wrinkles around the mouth area.

Restylane® Silk is a thinner liquid, meaning that injections can be made with a very small needle. Due to its consistency, the skin has a very smooth appearance afterwards. This filler also provides very natural results; so it is quite possible that others will notice something different, yet not deduce that you have had a procedure performed.

If you are primarily concerned with plumping your lips, the area around your mouth, or underneath your eyes, you may want to consider Restylane® Silk.

Tell us about any health concerns you have as well as any medications you are taking. We especially need to know if you have had a negative reaction to any dermal filler or injectable treatment in the past.

Arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your appointment to allow enough time to complete paperwork before seeing the doctor. Aside from that, there is really nothing else you need to do.

Only a very few minutes, as there is very little preparation time required beforehand and the injection itself typically takes less than one minute.

Minimal bruising and swelling are possible after any dermal filler, including Restylane® Silk.

Unlike with other cosmetic procedures, scarring is one thing you do not have to worry about with dermal fillers and injectables such as Restylane® Silk.

You can typically notice results from Restylane® Silk in about a week or so.

The average time frame for maintaining results is around six months.

Restylane® Silk can reduce wrinkling, but it does not eliminate hyperpigmentation, acne scars, or other imperfections. If you are bothered by these concerns, you may also want to consider a chemical peel (LINK) to help you maximize your results.
