Juvederm® is an FDA-approved dermal filler consisting mostly of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the body. It is used to fill in certain areas of the face that have lost volume due to aging, primarily the cheeks and the area surrounding the lips.

Juvederm® can help give sunken cheeks a firmer, more uplifted appearance, while at the same time smoothing wrinkles around the mouth and nose.

Anyone with mild-to-moderate laugh lines who does not wish to undergo surgery can be a good candidate for Juvederm®.

Tell us about any health concerns you have as well as any medications you are taking. We especially need to know if you have had a negative reaction to any dermal filler or injectable treatment in the past.

Arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your appointment to allow enough time to complete paperwork before seeing the doctor. Aside from that, there is really nothing else you need to do.

Only a very few minutes, as there is very little preparation time required beforehand and the injection itself typically takes less than one minute.

Minimal bruising and swelling is possible after any dermal filler, including Juvederm®.

Unlike with other cosmetic procedures, scarring is one thing you do not have to worry about with dermal fillers and injectables such as Juvederm®.

Within a few hours, as it takes a little while for Juvederm® to become activated.

Typically between nine months and one year.

Juvederm® is primarily used on areas of the lower face, so if you also have forehead or brow wrinkles, Botox® could be needed to provide you with a balanced look.
